Child of God

Matthew had his infant baptism on the 15 December by water sprinkling. Infant baptism can be controversial as some felt that there's a need for personal conviction on salvation while Methodists felt that parent being guardian could exercise this decision for the babies although the parents might face challenges in future when the child grows up and asked why is this decision to baptise not reserved exclusively for himself to make.

In our case, both Darren and myself feel that letting our boys to go through infant baptism is a public declaration that we would guide and nurture them in Godly way by the wisdom granted. It is also a public declaration that the household acknowledges Christ as our Lord and Saviour. When the boys grow up, they will go through affirmation.

Unlike Jonathan's infant baptism which he got baptised on Christmas Day with his daddy in 2011, it was a very simple ceremony for Matthew. There was only 1 in the whole congregation getting baptised on that day, none other than Matthew.

Thanks to Wendy Boey who took the lovely photos for us. Here's the snippets of Matt's baptism.
