CNY Highlight

Image
This CNY 2012 came so close after Xmas, leaving me very little time to prepare anything. Jonathan's new PJ was bought 2 days before CNY from Mothercare. Presenting an excited Jonathan in his new PJ. I remember he slept close to midnight after 2 exciting night out. Well, he was thrilled and too excited to sleep but poor us... we couldn't wait to drop down on our bed. Good morning Jonathan! Flashing me his biggest smile on 除一. Jonathan had many "first" on that day. First CNY. First time wearing a little pants and a polo T-Shirt. Many relatives commented that we shouldn't dressed him up so maturely, saying he's just a little baby. We thought Jonathan looked smart in this outfit and Papa Darren even matched his son with checked pants too. The whole family dressed in Blue top and Brown/ Grey bottoms for the CNY. 除二... Little Hood Boy went to 拜年 On 除六, we travelled to the outskirts of sunny island. I guess Jonathan was thinking the same thing as me... Punggol + Seng

CNY 2012 has kicked off

Image
CNY 2012 kicked off with reunion dinner at my parents' place yesterday. We brought Jonathan to the nearby mall to do some last minute shopping. While the festive air was evident in the mall, my little boy didn't soaked in the atmosphere at all. He looked grumpy throughout our shopping trip. We bought Yu Sheng from Pu Tien and topped up with salmon sashimi bought from Kuishinbo. So while everyone was having a good time tossing, boy boy had his milk at one corner. Needless to say, Jonathan was not too happy and he stayed grumpy throughout the dinner. Round 2 starts tonight at in-law's place. Another battle with a grumpy teething Jonathan.

Double Rainbows

Image
Double rainbows phenomenon after a rain Caught this at my mum's place and it reminded me of God's covenant with Noah. With this double rainbows, I'm sure God is reassuring us not to fret over this year 2012. He is doubling assuring us with His faithfulness and grace. “But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. 8 He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” ~Jeremiah 17:7-8

Growing Into Next Stage

Image
My little boy is growing up fast and strong. At 4month 10day old, Jonathan weighed a hefty 7.4kg with a height of 65cm. Although approaching 5month, he shows no sign of flipping. Sometimes, he turns his body to the side way and that's about it. I am actually secretly relieve I can still change his diaper in peace, cos' I know once he starts to flip, changing diaper is a new challenge. Even the baby cot needs additional safety measure. Overzealous daddy Darren is so eager to start his son on 四神粉. He heard from his colleague that it would help strength the leg muscles, hence once secure PD's agreement, little Jon has a nightly special. And because PD has given his "go-ahead" on semi-solid food, I tried Frisocrem on Jon last Saturday. He took a small sip and rejected it. My mum has better luck. She gave it to Jon this afternoon and he managed to take a few mouths before turning his head away. Lastly, little Jon has morphed again... while he still has my eyes, he is s

Playing Catch Up

I have not been blogging much.. Life has been so hectic. My day begins early.... 5.30am - wake up to pump 7.30am - leave house for work During office hour, I squeeze in another 2 pump sessions so that my boyboy has BM to drink. 5.30pm - rush home for 2nd shift cos' my mum needs to go off by 6.30pm to fetch my older brother's 2 kids from Childcare. If I'm lucky, I get to eat my dinner before 8pm. If I'm lucky, I get to shower before 9pm. If everything goes well, I get to sleep by 10.30pm. Most often, that's not the case. Ah boy wants to play till 9pm. Kicks a big fuss before he sleeps. Not forgetting, he wakes up at 2-3am for a feed. Recently, he decides he won't sleep immediately after his milk, so that means it drag on until 4am before he (we) sleep(s). Yes, is torturous.. but every morning, I am so reluctant to leave the house. I wish I could stay home with him and enjoy every moment with him although I admit it could be quite a chore at times handling a crank

A Xmas Lunch

Image
This is definitely a late post. Our 2nd annual Xmas lunch at Tangling Club, with wonderful ladies - Li Peng and Raelene. I'm always so amazed by our friendship that spanned across the vast contrast in our age group. We always have so much to talk that our lunch date started at 12.30pm and only ended at 3.30pm and it was not enough. There's still too much to chat although we do catch up in Church too. Back to our lunch, this year Raelene arranged a cocktail drink at the bar side before adjourning to our table. Our favourite snack was the anchovies although it made us choked several times with its flakiness. Our Xmas tradition included the crackers that would be pull at the table. This time round I had an non-alcoholic egg nog while Raelene had her favourite mulled wine (below). We started our Xmas set lunch with soup made with artichoke and foie gras. Bread to go along with the soup. I surprised Raelene with my turkey order. She thought I would have chosen fish. The fish which w
