calmer

It is such a luxury to be able to blog at this point. Jonathan has not recovered from his flu, cough and fever. We just can't shake off the symptoms. This is his first time to be sick for so long (3 days to me are very long!) Mum's operation is successful and I'm glad that my ah yi stepped in to help at this time. She brought my mum back to her place so she can be her nightingale. It makes me feel so envy to have a sister. Really, I think woman's power always stand up at the crucial moment. As for me, after spotting for 2 days and with cramps, it has finally stopped (crossing my fingers). The review is not very good but baby is definitely doing very well. Active and growing well. Spotted something in between the legs, so it could be a little brother for Jonathan. Some moments I am filled with hope. Some moments my thoughts run wild. But I have to say, probably only a mother would understand my feelings at this point of time. I have been in touch with some mum

I need God's strength

Everything that could go wrong, went wrong! Absolute Murphy's law. 1. Jonathan woke up in the morning with running nose. Heard him coughing and phelgmy when he slept last night. - decided to bring him to PD and realised that his usual PD(s), 2 of them on half day clinic. Asked around for recommendation and that the doctor also unavailable. 2. Then I got spotting again!!! For the 3rd times in my 13 weeks of pregnancy. - called the gynae's clinic. Gynae not in town. His nurse told me to get bed rest, if possible and monitor. - the spotting is really getting quite irritating. But I can't take it lightly. I'm so afraid I will be ordered to have complete bedrest. 3. With all the above situation, my mum is schedule for her operation tomorrow. Oh Jesus! Help me to resolve all my problems!

Movie Returns

Image
After a hiatus of 9 months, we finally caught a movie sans Jonathan. Movie night organized by my company. Also thankful to my mum for staying over to look after Jonathan so we could catch Madagascar 3. Initially wanted to bring Jonathan there but looking at our allocated seats which were smacked in the centre of the centre block, it would be hard to make an escape with a wailing baby. I hope I can bring Jonathan to cinema soon. It would be nice to watch a movie as a whole family.

Project XP2

God really caught us by surprise.  20 April 2012 I suspected I was pregnant 3 days before I took the test. The tell-tale signs were similar to the times when I conceived Jonathan. The nausea and gagging during brushing teeth. The positive line was faint. 22 April 2012 The line got darker and I really couldn't believe it! Jonathan was only coming close to 8 month old. I decided to repeat my experiment with my ovulation test strip. It showed a positive as well.  The result was quite strong and my mind went into a whirlwind mode. A lot of things came to mind. The immediate concern was what is going to happen my Jonathan. 24 April 2012 Still in my denial state, I tested with clear blue. This is the "golden standard" to me with its 99% accuracy. But I still couldn't really settle down with the news. 28 April 2012 Just in case clear blue got it wrong with its 1% error margin, I r

Home Made Laksa

Image
I found that doing home made laksa is quite effortless with this great product from Prima. Everything you need is in this box. The other ingredient you need is noodle and whatever else you like. My home made laksa. I had it with 粗米粉 (thicker bee hoon), boiled egg, bean sprouts, ta pok (dried bean curbs), fish cake and shredded chicken. Garnished with laksa leaves. I diluted the laksa sauce to suit my taste and it was great! Love my home made laksa! :)

KEK

Image
Found another good crab place in the west zone. Keng Eng Kee Seafood situated at Blk 124 Bukit Merah Lane 1. Actually was introduced to this great crab place by SIL. Been there twice in 2 weeks' time, each with different group of people but with the same order of crabs. Highly recommended the chill crab. Not so spicy that there's no flavour (cos' your tongue burnt with the hotness) and the gravy is just nice, not too watery or starchy. Eat it with their special handmade bun. Not the usual fried bun which is good. Reduce the risk of having sore throat. Sweet and fluffy that even baby (Jonathan) loves it. I would also recommend their salted egg crab. Most people would probably get turn off by their name - salty egg. But trust me. This is nothing like the salted egg you have during the Mooncake festival. Another good reason to visit KEK is for their crab freshness... the first time I ever shell out meat from the legs and reasonab

My First Fried Bee Hoon

Image
Decided to do fried Bee Hoon (vermicelli) for lunch today. We went out early to NTUC to get our ingredients. Checked out Noob Cook for recipe since this was my first attempt. I always like her recipes as everything becomes so simple and the best part, she's a local. So definitely, you can get the ingredients she used. fried bee hoon with cai xin, egg and brown mushrooms I changed the portion of seasoning accordingly to my portion of bee hoon. The verdict was the texture is right (not too soft or hard). Darren thought the saltiness is also just right but I felt that it would be better with a little tinge of more salt. Also, the next round I do fried bee hoon again, I will throw in my vegetables and mushrooms while the bee hoon is still wet. In this way, I won't have to add more water which diluted my seasoning portions of light and dark soya sauce. red bean soup with gingko nuts and sago I ended the meal with red bean soup, again a Noob Cook's r
