Breaking Barrier

Image
Phew! I finally managed to cross the 50kg barrier on the weighing scale. This 50kg has stuck with me for a very long time (since Oct 2011) and I thought I would never see a 4X kg on the weighing scale ever in my life again! Just when I had given up hope, The needle stopped at 4....... 9, my heart skipped a beat. Yeah! my 49kg frame 3kg more to my ideal weight! Ganbatte!

Matthew's 1st Swim

Image
We finally found time to bring Matthew to Baby Spa for his first swim. Actually, we still had 7 sessions left from Jonathan's time but it was already expired. so the Baby Spa staff advised us to top up another $50 to extend the validity to 1 year. We went to Harbourfront branch and it was crowded. In fact, the 1st trip was wasted because by then a small pool was ready, Matthew was hungry. After latching, he fell asleep so we went back home empty handed. The 2nd trip we were lucky to get the small pool on the spot because the other customer's baby was hungry. The staff helped Matthew into his swim diaper and put the neck float. looking bewildered He was slowly lowered in the pool and looking very bewildered at all that was happening to him. In fact, he just froze on the spot. Then we realised that he could actually stand in the pool. So the staff topped up more water but I guess he's too big for the small pool. is he tall or what? For a very long t

Holding the Galaxy

Image
I have moved over to the Android camp. Yes, you have heard me right and this is my birthday present from Darren. Am I thrilled? Hmm... first, although I complained about my old iPhone 4, at least I was familiar with its operating. Initially, holding S4 was fun and there were many things to explore. However, I soon realised that some of iPhone apps cannot be used in S4. I also have difficulty syncing my gallery photos into my Mac Pro. Nonetheless, S4 is all about fun. Just in the camera mode, there are different photo modes for you to choose from. self-potrait using beauty face mode night scene shot I'm still exploring the phone and hope in the days to come, S4 will be my bff.

Where's the cake?

Image
Since Matthew turned 5 month old on the 16th and my birthday falls on the 17th, we shared a cake together.... in the form of 3 cupcakes earl grey, mocha & bailey choc No candle blowing or a big cake this year... 3 simple cupcakes from Twelve Cupcakes. looking very happy with his loot Of course, Matthew just posed with the cupcakes and then, it's all into my stomach. Haha... and soon bright eyed Matthew realised and started to pout. chey! That really wrapped up a year older celebration for moi !

Happy Birthday to Me too!

Image
Happy Birthday to Me continued in the evening. We went to Robinson member sale at centrepoint and thereafter had our dinner at TCC ( only because I am their member and member gets a 50% discount on the 1st visit in the birthday month ). me & my 3 boys This time round, we remembered to take a family picture. So here's me in my new short hairstyle and my 3 darlings. When I'm at TCC, I must have their seafood aglio olio, reduced the spicy level to just 1. always my fav seafood au gratin mushroom medley  clam chowder That's summed up a day of food and more food.

Happy Birthday to Me!

17 May 2013 Another year older and hopefully another year wiser. The original celebration plan was a trip to The Line for yummy buffet, followed by couple spa at Amara Hotel. But Jonathan was down with phlegmy cough so we didn't send him to school for the whole week again. This also meant that we had to re-plan. Plan B became a brunch at Food For Thought at botanic garden. food for thought I love their spacious layout and big table that is so family friendly. They even have a toddler meal, perfect for the little one. scrambled egg, bacons & toasted bread We topped up an extra $2 for a dessert box that came with apple juice and a little cupcake. Jonathan enjoyed his brunch as much as us. I think he enjoyed more messing up the food and trying to self-feed. sausages and more sausages Bangers & Mash for two was not really enough for two. I had to top up my brunch with the pancakes. mixed berries pancakes served with cold

Celebrating Mother's Day

Image
We went for a buffet dinner at Sakura near my parent's place last weekend to celebrate Mother's Day. I soon realized that now with 2 kids, I could not slowly take my time to eat and take picture. It is either eat in installment or gobble down your food. Hence, there was no foodie photos to show. Perhaps this would also be my last buffet as Matthew would probably follow his brother, running around next year. Even harder to dine out. Over at Mindchamps, the school held the celebration yesterday with cup cake decoration with the champs. The champs were supposedly to perform some dance for the mummies but they ended up too overwhelming to dance. All of them just froze on the spot. Jonathan cried upon seeing me (scratch head). After a while, the champs calmed down and Jonathan finally could showed me his handicraft works. We spent some time to decorate the cup cakes and got to speak to his teachers for a while. Although the cupcakes were smashed du

roll over...

Image
First, he flipped from back to tummy. Now he rolls over... and over the bed. It was a good thing he rolled onto the floor from Jonathan's bed which was much lower and my bedroom floor is not concrete. Nonetheless, he cried bad enough to let me know it's painful. Of course, is painful from the sight of the redness on his head. It was my negligence. I didn't know he could roll now. My bad. I just walked a few steps away and then I heard the ruffled sound and saw him on the floor. Looks like we need another plan to confine him so that the caregiver could at least take a break at times.

What's that?

I drink a lot of water and so much that sometimes I get a little giddy from the lost electrolytes. To compensate the loss, I drink isotonic drink every few days to balance. On Wednesday I was about to drink from this 100 plus orange tangy flavour when I notice a flurry white spot at the side of the bottle. I tried shaking it but it doesn't dissolved. I began to suspect it is a fungus spot. Although I had unscrewed the cap, the expiry date clearly showed that it is to expired in 2014. I called up and email to F&N. They took my case seriously and got someone to retrieve the faulty drink the next day. They compensate me with a 1.5L original flavour (upon my request) drink which I am happily drinking now. I would receive the report on their investigation after 14 working days. I will certainly update again.

Look What She Has Done!

Image
Look at the damage that my maid has done to my floor. She claimed that she accidentally spill a cup of water while ironing and at the same time, Matthew was crying. So she tended to him first and not mop up the mess. And yet, she didn't even mention or talk about it to me when I got home. Instead she kept quiet until at night 10pm, Darren discovered it and was hopping mad! Yes... we were so mad that we almost booked a ticket to send her home on the very same night. Upon confrontation, she admitted it was not the first time she spilled water in the room. To redo the room, it would cost $900 to overlay the whole room with a better material. If not, it would be $800 to redo half the room with original material and the effect would not be so nice. I also called up the maid agency which I was told that I could not get the maid to compensate us. But the agency did chided her and warned her. I was and am still very upset over this incident because this was not the first time

fav pix of the year

Image
a 3 month old Matthew with 19 month old Jonathan There is no doubt this is my favourite photo of the year. With Jonathan's dazzling smile and Matthew's intense morning look, this photo brings me a smile all the time! It is a no wonder too, that this photo is my wallpaper in my office desktop.
