There are a few reasons why I don't blog much compared to the past. When I first started blogging, I had the idea of keeping an electronic diary aka a blog. I thought memorable events should be penned down, together with photos for keepsake. When I got married and started to have kids, I thought it is even more worthwhile to pen down some of the thoughts that crossed my mind. But in reality, even with a live-in helper, I realised that I don't have the luxury of time to blog. Mere walking around my small apartment allows me to clock 1.2K to 2K steps just in a morning. So you can see how engaged I am every morning, 7 days a week. Struggling with the 2 preschoolers can be backbreaking and certain days really left me drained even before I reached the office. I still have the dreadful feeling when the husband got to work late into the night or on weekends. Then of course, there's a privacy issue. I have never thought that my blog should be those money-rolling type o

Is that even hard to solve? Nay, I'm not going to write about Math but all those little celebrations that marked my hatch day. TCC Tradition As usual, there would be a birthday dinner at TCC because I'm a member and birthday month gets us a 50% from total bill. We like to visit the outlet at Keppel Bay, we get to stroll and admire those sailing boats anchor at the pier. my choice of food complete with dessert The eve of my birthday we got a small cake for the boys to sing the Birthday song and blow out the candle. symbolic cake celebration On the actual day, the elder boy was sick and half of my day was spent on childcare leave and the other half, I returned to work. Later that evening, we had a simple dinner outside. And that's it. Another year passed and another year of same routine, maybe some hiccups, maybe a pleasant surprise. Sun rise, sun set, day in, day out, life still goes on.

五月庆祝什么节日?

The 2nd Sunday of May… most know right away what's the special occasion. For me, I have to admit I didn't notice it is Mother's Day until the few days ago. It totally slipped my mind. I didn't have any plan and on such highly commercialised day, you can guess we will end up in some restaurant, rushing through our dinner with only choices of set menu. That is not my thought on Mother's Day. This morning in Church, this was read out and I thought it summed up the exact feeling I have for Mother, Motherhood and Mothering. This was by Amy Young who wrote "A Wide Spectrum of Mothering". To those who gave birth this year to their first child—we celebrate with you To those who lost a child this year – we mourn with you To those who are in the trenches with little ones every day and wear the badge of food stains – we appreciate you To those who experienced loss through miscarriage, failed adoptions, or running away—we mourn with you To those who wa

Overnight Oats

These days I tend to whip up dishes, cake or even overnight oats on a whim. I didn't have the right tool like the glass jar, the berries or the yummy yogurt. I suddenly remembered that I should be taking oats because it helps in reducing cholesterol. So I decided to google on overnight oats and honestly, I didn't get past the search suggestions. I read the header and sensed that it is probably oats soaked in some type of liquids and throw in whatever toppings you like. So I makeshift with a square lock & lock box. Throw in some oats from Quakers, mixed with Chia sees. I didn't have milk except those UHT chocolate milk that the boys don't want to drink. So I pour it in. my 1st overnight oats Then there's only the pears and the grapes and in there they went. I didn't know what to expect but to let it sit in the fridge for at least 8 hours. hey… it tasted not bad This morning, I took it out to thaw for about 2 hours before I consumed it. Bu

2016 seems to be flying. We are in the month of May now. That's fast. This also means Jonathan is approaching P1 in less than 2 years. We haven't hit the major milestone - to be totally diaper free for night. But we had some success in cutting down his milk intake before bedtime, making him go to toilet before he sleeps. We note that his diaper would be dry up to midnight, sometimes 1-2am. It would have been ideal if we wake him up and get him to go toilet. That would push him forward in meeting the milestone target. However, we ain't keen in disrupting his sleep. We are still firm believers that good health starts with quality sleep. with his fav MBS The Rocket award has to go to Matthew. We have seen tremendous improvements in many aspects. For example, he is finally off diaper during day-nap, starts to drink from packet milk, he is definitely more vocal and speaking in long sentences and asking in full question structure. He's clearer with his pronunciati
