2 x 2 = 4

21 November 2013 We celebrated our 4th year of blessed union by His grace. 4th wedding anniversary is like fruit, flower and silk. 4th year denotes the smoothing of initial adjustment and difficulties in the beginning years. Signifies the silky road ahead for the couple, bearing fruits and flowers from their commitment. On this special day, we decided we would do the things we can't do when the kids are around. That would mean Spa and Movie. I booked ourselves a LUSH Date with Lush Spa located at the Singapore Polo Club. entrance jacuzzi pool tranquility where the Polo begins We were taken in by the tranquility of the surrounding. There was no horses for me to sight, unfortunately. What we had was peace and quietness. Lush Spa Lush spa was at the 2nd level where the gym is and really, I do adore the quietness in the whole environment. We were greeted warmly by the staff and was asked if we would prefer ginger tea or water. We were given some ti

Spring Forward Baby!

Matthew 11month 1day old Matthew has been taking many baby steps but none I was quick enough to capture.  This was the best I could before he sat down.  Spring forward baby!  Mummy will always be here to hold you when you fall.

天下没有不散的宴席

Image
It has been a good 5 years and it has seen through us from couple time to a family with 2 young kids. 天下没有不散的宴席. For safety's sake, we have no choice but to exchange you for a much bigger capacity car. in its glorious day Our sedan car had served us well for the past 5 years however with the addition of a helper and Matt, there was no way we could squeeze 2 car seats and an adult at the back. We deliberated for a very long time and finally decided that we just had to upgrade from sedan to a MPV. welcome onboard We got our new ride today and we were still pretty excited about it. Both boys sat quietly in the new ride, absorbing in the new surrounding. I still haven't got round to drive this new ride, hopefully it would be a smooth transition for me, from sedan to a MPV.

Cut Fat Plan

Seriously, I need to reduce some weight. Oops... the uncontrollable 2 big feasting on crabs during October had led to some undesirable weight gain and a ballooned body shape. With so many merry making and feasting occasions popping up in these 2 to 3 months, I got to exercise self-control. Usually start of a new year means health check again, is high time I watch my cholesterol intake. I burst my cholesterol level for the past 3 years' health check. Boo... skipping rope - great exercise companion   So the family started on a healthy lifestyle starting last week. We went to the connecting park for stroll, slow jog, brisk walk and I brought along my skipping rope. Got this bright yellow skipping rope ffrom Daiso and I could use it even at home. A sensible diet is needed so I stop snacking in the afternoon. Instead of munching on the pocky sticks, I drank green tea. Decided I won't need so much carbo since there's no more breastfeeding so drop the rice intake at dinn

Never Too Young To Help

Image
I love looking back at my babies' photos when they were younger. It never failed to bring a smile to me. Very often, I found myself wondering where did TIME fly to? It just seemed that it was yesterday we carried a newborn home and they are now crawling (for Matt), running and dancing around (for Jon). helping with the laundry Now that Jon is 2, he is beginning to help around the house. First, he was fixated with the vacuum cleaner and would want to vacuum the house. Then he hooked onto the magic clean and wanted to use it to sweep the floor. Now, he is fascinated with the washing machine. Every morning, he would wake up and run to the washing machine and be the first to press "START". He would chant start start start until the deed is done. Nowadays, he follows up after the cycle is completed by taking out the washed laundry to the collection bag. I do hope this means that I have a ready-trained helper on standby when auntie goes for home leave.

Star Cruise - Our 1st Family Holiday

Image
It has been a long wait... a 2 year hiatus before holiday or vacation showed up in our calendar. We were naturally thrilled and equally filled with anxiety on our 1st family vacation. To ensure that we won't stress ourselves too much, my mum and helper came along with us for this 3D2N cruise to Port Klang. 6 November 2013  - Day 1 The 6 of us got into 2 cabs and headed to Harbourfront Cruise Centre. We were actually quite shocked  as there were many many many Indian tourists. It was really confusing and chaotic as to where we should head to after checking in our luggages. Thankfully, the helpful staff at the Cruise Centre ushered us right to the getaway after we got our cabin passenger card. But that was after another round of confusion on our helper's clearance at the immigration. waiting for daddy to  return with our cabin cards wait ah wait... All was forgotten when we spotted the cruise liner we were going to spend our next 3 days on. Star Vir

One Step Closer

birthday invite Yippee, the birthday invite came earlier than expected. We are now one step closer putting the party together. The next task will be confirming a baker for that important cake.

Fanciful, Extensive, Elaborate

Image
I thought I had overdone with Matthew's 1st birthday celebration by printing birthday invites and getting a magician and balloonist for the party. Venue was a function room at a clubhouse with buffet spread and balloon decoration. Oh boy! Then I realised ... that other mummies were planning a real ELABORATE birthday party. Mine was really a 小屋见大屋. Matthew's was a simple, old fashioned birthday invite which I probably would not have it if not, his party is close to Xmas and I am afraid invited guests would miss the magician part. Then I realise dessert table is extremely IN now. A Special Saturday

Image
It was indeed extraordinary because it was something I never thought it could actually happened and the big deal was ....... I took over driving the whole day and without the hubby. Okay, it was a big deal because I never thought I could drive. Although I got my licence way back in 2004 and passed within my 1st attempt, driving has never intrigued me. I remember I disliked my driving instructor (I took my lesson as a private candidate) and I was always extremely nervous during lesson time. So I really thank the LORD and heaved a big relief when I got a PASS. Afterwhich, the licence has never seen the daylight again. Fast forward to present time.... I relied heavily on hubby to chauffeur us around and when he had to work on weekends, it was really boring for me and the kids. Sometimes in October, I mustered enough courage to drive myself to the wet market with him sitting besides. With more practices, I got the hang of driving and I started to clock more mileage. When he announ
