Last week, the admin lady from the preschool which the boys attend, asked me for a favour. She asked if I could write a testimonial about the boys' experience with the preschool and also if I could do up a A4 sized decoration. She briefly showed me a work from one of the parents. I didn't think much, it was a Monday morning, my brain hadn't started work. So I just said yes and took the frame home. After that, I was asking myself why did I agree! Thankfully, it was a lull week at work since there was an external audit ongoing so I was able to conceptualise what I intended to write and design the frame decoration. 1 page testimonial I used one of the weekday nights to write up the 1page testimonial and printed out. While the boys were in Berries, made a pit stop at Daiso for some craft decorations. While the boys napped, I sent the photos for printing. Last night, I completed my task. decoration for the frame Presenting my effort of bookmarking the h

I got a letter!

Image
One day, the husband hurried home after opening the letter box. He was exclaiming: "Wife, you got a strange letter. It's from the PMO." Oh wow… PMO (Prime Minister's Office), what could it be? For that split 10 seconds, I guessed various possibilities. Was it the maid? But that should be from MOM. Was it the maid's levy? Hey, that should be CPF. Was it work related? How could that be? Aha… and so I gingerly opened the 120grams envelope to reveal a neatly tri-folded letter that had the header NPTD. What? NDP?? NPTD? National Population and Talent Division .. I gasped! I held my breath for that one minute as I read the letter and then as all movies' cliff hanger… the ending was super anti-climax. It was just a letter to inform me that I was selected randomly for a survey. Ya.. I know. Super anti-climax right! Haha… but for that moment, it was quite a suspense. Good to have such a break from the monotonous routine I have.

How do you eat your Egg?

Image
Do Not Mixed with the Yolks I have never like soft boiled eggs.  I like eggs, don't get me wrong but not when it is uncooked or half cooked.  I need my eggs to be hard boiled, totally cooked.  So what do I do when I have an expensive plate of soft boiled eggs in front of me?  Scrapped off the whites and leaving the yolks untouched.  And that's how I learn to eat my soft boiled eggs.

The Dress

Image
This was a dress which I bought on a whim when I was into my 2nd trimester of Jonathan's time. It fitted me nicely as it was an empire cut dress in chiffon. However after 2 pregnancies and all, I ballooned too much to fit into the dress again. But I kept it. You know how… some ladies kept a piece of their smaller-size clothing they once wear. Well… this dress was That Dress. After almost 5 years.. I can finally fit in again although the arm hole still feel tight. It's a great incentive to stop the weight from piling and may I reduce to my original state  soon before the big 40.

ABC Cooking

Image
I signed for an hour cooking class with cousin-in-law. There wasn't any real cooking but more of an introductory to ABC cooking school and had hands-on doing Temari Zushi (round sushi) and Matcha Tiramisu. The 1-hour class cost $15 per pax and was organised by Sakuraya Fish Mart. I was attracted to Matcha Tiramisu and quickly got hold of the cousin and we signed up on the spot. Encapsulated Zushi All the ingredients were prepared beforehand and participants just needed to learn on the assembly. So for $15 for an hour, it was a steal as we got to eat what we had prepared. Final Products Because of this session, we signed up another trial baking class with ABC cooking school. Sounds great and fun at ABC cooking school =D Ta-da...

Maid Woes

Can you believe it? Days after we celebrated her birthday, she decided to play stunt and demanded we send her home. She didn't even care she still owed us a loan and even smirkily said her mother could pay us back and she was a big boss with 3 companies in her own country. A few days before her drama, she started telling my mum she wants her handphone back which was at the agency. She even told my mum how she was doing big business in her country and even was a model at one point. Thereafter her drama unfolded 3 Fridays ago. The front door was wet and I told her to get a rag so the children could step in without the dirtying the floor. She stood there like a statue and after repeated myself 3 times, she slowly moved her butt, sash-sashing down the kitchen. Like a hissy cat suddenly, she threw a big fit and pointed her finger at me, saying that I never liked her! Oh gosh! She then took her luggage and started packing which really had me lost my cool. I reasoned with her, firs
