Image
Matthew had his first social gathering yesterday with newly found forum friends. making small talk with his new friend Someone kindly hosted the big group of us at her place and we had finger food for high tea. Of course, the highlight wasn't the food, it's all the babies. 19 babies turned up We placed the babies according to their birth date. Can you spot Matthew? and their mummies Not forgetting the mummies behind the scene. Wonderful gathering... hope there will be more to come.

Dr Irene Chua

Although I was not with Dr Irene Chua from the start of the pregnancy, I was still glad that I am her patient for the last trimester. Such a nice and assuring doctor. I would not be able to breathe easily if not for her.

One Month Has Gone!

Image
Matthew turned ONE month old today! 1 month old Matthew (Day 31) Confinement has ended officially but I continued with confinement tingkat for lunch from Chilli Padi and still keeping up with my daily dose of red dates tea. Strange to say... I miss confinement this time. Very thankful that auntie Qing Lian had managed to finish her confinement assignement with me before her daughter delivers end this month. I missed her presence and her cooking. Who said that confinement food is boring... not me! I had chicken chop rice for lunch and daily dessert in the afternoon and tonic soup at night. Those were the (good 'O) days.... chicken chop rice She left on Monday and I guess Matthew missed her too. He didn't sleep the whole of Monday afternoon which really made me panic. But thank God, he settled down by 10pm. Night shift began on Monday. Waking up every 3 hourly for his milk and then I pump before I sleep for an hour. Then the whole cycle repeats itself again.

Baby's Woes

Image
Every baby has his/ her own issues. Jonathan had blocked tear ducts which caused both his eyes to be severely matted in his early days and even had an eye infection. Even now, he is very easily prone to get his eyes infected. Then for the first 3 months, he had reflux problem which caused him to spit out milk. While Matthew has no blocked tear ducts or reflux problem, he suffers from infant acne. Day 24 - Matthew suffering from infant acne The acne problem first surfaced last Wednesday and we thought it was caused by the milk. So we cleaned his face after each feed but it just got worse. Finally we brought him to PD on Tuesday. We were given 2 creams - one for his pimples and one for the heat rash. Poor baby! With only a few days to go before his full month celebration, really hope he can recover in time.
