Preschool Selected

I did a review of the 3 preschools that we visited sometime in March this year.

1) Mindchamps Preschool @ Fusionopolis

2) Agape Little Uni @ Clementi

3) Learning Vision @ Solaris

Our search continued and we got more and more panic and desperate as we went along our search. Mainly this time round, we were looking for both Infant Care and Childcare which made it not an easy feat.

In addition to the list, we managed to visit

4) Little Skool House @ Ulu Pandan CC

5) Cherie Hearts @ Science Park

We even lower our expectation and joined in the queue for the Little Wings PCF down at my block.

But very soon (as Xmas is approaching), we realized we need to change our strategy.

With this current maid #3, whom by far we are most pleased with... we decided to take this risk. I sounded my mum whether she's willing to come over next year for the morning shift to take care of XP2 and then let the maid takes over the afternoon shift. We send Jonathan to a full day childcare to make things easier.

Well, apparently it seems like this will be our childcare arrangement for Year 2013. So the gear for preschool (aka full day childcare) selection is shifted.

Yesterday, we took half day leave and went down to Mindchamps to check out the place again and also to see the little kids in action. And then... we did the final step. Registered Jonathan for Mindchamps' playgroup, paid the deposit, 1 month school fees, registration fee and school insurance.

Mindchamps is definitely not cheap, even after subsidy and GST, the monthly school fee is about $1400. But at his tender age, I need caring and nurturing teachers. I need a childcare that can really put my heart at ease.

Jonathan will be joining his cohort next Mar. There will be an orientation for both the nervous parents and toddler 2 weeks before joining. Until then, we were given a stack of questionnaire to fill in so that the school has all the emergency numbers and even photos of care givers that might be picking up the child. All his preferences, habits are to be noted down and even his PD contact has to be filled in.

With one thing taken off my mind, I feel more relaxed. I do hope this will help ease us to a new beginning in 2013.

wow! at $1400 per mth, mindchamps is really a premier pre school. but i am sure it will be all worth it. heard great stuff about all these atas schs from my colleagues... heehee.

hope you baby enjoys school. ryan will only be attending church kindergarten in his 30th month... hmm... in the meantime, i can only try to stimulate his learning to the best of my ability.

Hi, Apple.

Just to check on the orientation week. The principle didn't mention on the 2 week trial classes. May I know if it counts from 1st week of March? My kid will attend the same class as ur boy...

You actually know how to bring a problem to light and make it important. More people really need to read this and understand this side of your story.
