JB Makan Trip - Part 2

Now that we were in Johor, our tour guide did some basic introduction to us regarding our next door neighbour. Johor is a state in which Johor Bahru is a town or province. Pontian is another province in the state of Johor.

Pontian is well known for its seafood since it is next to the open sea and also for the Pontian wanton noodle, which used tomato sauce instead. Then there's the pineapples too.

Pontian itself is divided to Big Pontian which people still fish for a living.

while the small Pontian is more commercial with shops.

Our next stop is Teochew Porridge for lunch.

Traditional sweet potato porridge.

We had a total of 8 courses of dishes to go along with our porridge. Really very full after this lunch.

I was quite relieved to know that our next stop was a non-food event.

We were driven to this factory to watch how the local produced costume jewellery.

It was a Saturday yet there was still people working in the factory.

This job requires good eyesight and lots of patience.

This worker said she could solder about 200 necklaces a day. Wow... that's really a lot of hard work put in for all the costume jewellery we see.

Then it's shopping time at Jusco and our last feast was this popular chinese restaurant.

A group photo while waiting for dinner to start.

Thank God for the good weather and the good company.
