God has a way!

4 January 2014

My FB feeds were all about little kids going to school as P1 or attending their 1st day at Preschool. For my Jonathan, it should be easy peasy for him except that he is still wailing. At this rate he is going, I'm sure he will be the record holder for the boy who cried throughout his preschool years.

We have thought of the possibilities that made him cried. Maybe he thought Matt is staying home and playing all his toys or maybe he was bullied in school or maybe he wasn't engaged enough in school… maybe maybe maybe… too many maybes.

Then a particular thing happened today at his Sunday School. He was given these 2 little books.

Tell God about it!

The first little book was about a little girl that doesn't like to go to school. Wow! It hit the spot! And the most surprising coincidence was the second book on "Bad Temper". Double hit!!

We read the books in the Church once and we read the books again just before bedtime. We read the book on the little girl who was afraid to go school because she felt she is lousy in school work. Then we read how her teacher and her parents would help her to catch up and she needed to pray to God for wisdom and courage! We also read about the little boy who beat his little boy because he didn't like to think his mummy thought his little brother is better than him. He did all the naughty things because he was afraid no one would love him. In the end, he learnt that he need not be afraid because God is forgiving and loves him the same, so will his family.

Learning to Pray

I love how Jonathan will follow the little girl in the book, clasped his hands, closed his eyes, bowed his head and with a loud Amen! While he agrees with the little girl's story, he has not come to term with his action on his little brother. I say… God is at work! and we leaped with joy at his willingness to learn to talk to God! Good start for the year!
