Set Sail With Courage!

This week, we had our Jon turned 6! How fast can the time fly and just like that... like a snap of your fingers, he is 6 and going to the next leap in his life.

He is one year older and hopefully, a year wiser. He makes interesting observation at the most unexpected moment and is sharp eyed. This year, he requested a Spider Man cake for home celebration and a Cruise Ship theme cake for his class celebration. We did consider having a party at Waku Waku but with the renovation, it would be too tight to plan such an event.

So we settled for Bengawan Solo's Spider Man cake, held it last Sunday together with our mini house warming (house is not completely furnished so I shall hold on posting first).

Simple Home Celebration

For his class celebration, he specifically requested for a cruise ship theme because he said his friends asked a lot of questions on his May cruise. So he wanted to show them what a cruise ship is like. I approached Sophessa Cakes and the cake was magnificent!.

Cruise Ship Cake

The photo didn't do justice to the major effort by baker, Linda. She had the waves in "High-Definition HD" details. Please check out Sophessa Cakes in FB or IG. I was totally awed by the whole outlook of the cake!

As for the birthday boy, he loved it, needless to say.

totally love this jump shot

Parents are not allowed to join in the celebration, so we could only passed the camera, had the cake delivered to school, sent in the goodies bags etc. But from the returned photos, I think the kids were having great fun.

customised name stickers,
bag tags, cereal box

I approached Wonderland Favour to customised name stickers and bag tags. Hopefully these would be in use for his friends when they enter P1. Box of cereal to signify the "growing up" (I always associate cereal with Primary School's life daily breakfast) and another small pack of Disney stickers which Jon picked for his friends.

On his actual birthday, we took leaves to bring them out. It was the first time, we took a whole day leave to bring Jon out on his birthday. We went to River Safari and it was a good choice. Cooling weather and being a weekday, there was hardly any crowd.

I would think this was the best "zoo" trip. We definitely seen the animals in a much clearer and unhurried state.

the 6 yr old Jon Jon

And just like that... he's now a 6 year old preschooler, eagerly waiting for next year to enter Primary School. Just like the cruise ship that sets sail, may his growing years always anchor in Jesus, the One that can calm the storm in his life.
