Ever Increasing
When we started our wedding preparation, we decided to skip the banquet. One reason being we find it absolutely troublesome to arrange such a banquet. We have this vision of having our wedding very simple and straightforward. Church wedding and a dinner buffet and that's it!
But is far from " that's it" ... as I probe further into the bottomless pit, the cost is ever increasing!
We have exceeded our budget for our bridal package and photography. If we were to breakdown on our bridal package, it will be probably 100% more expensive than a regular package, considered there's no evening gown in our package. But the good thing is we get along well with the designer and can trust him to come up with a super lite gown that still has the "wow" factor on me. No, I don't get to keep the gown even though the gown is designed from scratch and tailored from scratch.
Photography. Blame it on my "expensive" pair of eyes. I fancy those arty farty shots with a slight tinge of darkness in it. Or the candid natural emotional shot in vibrant colours. Viewed through a number of portfolios and only to come back to square one. But then I considered our photography package at a steal. For his kind of photography style, he's charging at an entry level. New kid on the block that needs to boast up his clientèle before he starts charging at an exorbitant price.
The list of the wedding preparation goes on... venue decoration, the catering, the wedding bands, the nitty gritty stuff of Guo Da Li and not to mention we haven't even bought our own place yet!
And as we gear up for our wedding shoot, I realised that nothing comes free. 1st idea of taking us in our casual wear at this art boutique coffee joint dashed. We are quoted for $450 nett an hour during off peak period and $600 nett an hour for peak hours. OMG!
Enquired this colonial house dining hub, was met with an equally haughty voice: " That will be $200 for 3 hours during our non operation hours. " With that, phone hanged up, not by me though *_*
Are we looking for a dream wedding? No.
Are we looking for a glamourous wedding? No.
Are we looking for the perfect wedding? No.
All we want is a joyous celebration as friends and families witness us in our reunion. Nothing pompous. Just the same old apple with her super casual beau! *dreamy dreamy....
