1st Lunar Birthday

Image
This is to make up for Jonathan's actual birthday. Poor baby was so sick during his birthday that we had to cancel all birthday celebration. Today is his exact Lunar Birthday and we decided to throw him a small celebration. little king with his feast There's the traditional hard boiled eggs with mee sua. Big chicken drumstick to symbolize a good life with plenty to eat. savoring his chicken drumstick We boiled the chicken drumstick instead. Jonathan wasted no time in savoring his chicken drumstick. I'm a grown up now! I eat mee sua! We bought those handmade mee sua who is supposed to be lower in salt content. Yet, we still rinsed it through water twice before serving to the little king. egg is good for me! I'm surprised that Jonathan is keen to try out all food. I guess he has reached another milestone. Taking in the egg yolk very well. After all the feasting, we prepared the items for 抓周. This is an ancient way of predicting ...

All that's left

Managed to sort out XP2's clothing, ranging from newborn to probably 3 month old. Had to throw away quite a lot as the white clothing turned yellow from milk stains. all that's left In the end, there's only just one shopping bag left of clothing with beanie(s), mittens and booties. Looks like I can do some shopping again! :) baby set from Josie XP2 received his first gift from Josie last Saturday. Blessed baby!

Snippets of Jonathan's 1st Birthday Party

Image
Date :  18 August 2012 Time : 12pm to 3pm Venue : Caffe Pralet  Theme : Mickey Mouse The not-so-very-cute Mickey Mouse sitting on a chocolate raspberry cake. 1.5kg to serve 30 pax with a price tag of $133.80 (after 10% discount). I didn't get a cake topper but got the baker to make the Mickey Mouse at $60!! Despite a swollen right eye, birthday prince was happy with this little party. All the birthday blessings! We only invited family and a couple of close friends. It was intended to be a small private family function. But the generosity of friends and relatives' covered the total expenses of the party with surplus. Definitely going to Jonathan's piggy bank.

a short note

I have not been able to update recently as simply my hands were tied down by a sick Jonathan. He celebrated his 1st birthday in a midst of medicine, high fever, swollen eye, phlegmy cough etc. It was his first birthday and was also the very first time he fell so sick that required him to see a PD twice in a week, and a trip to A&E with blood test. After this episode, I begin to wonder if I should do cord blood banking for #2. It is really so heart pain for the parents to see their little ones fall sick. But in the midst of many panicky nights and not to mention, little rest, my gynae's review today brought some good news to my ears. By God's grace, my cervical length appeared to lengthen. Really thank God and all the prayers that were offered to me. This good news just affirmed me further that Jesus' finished work at the Calvary cannot be undermined. All glory and praise to Him!

August Happenings

1. By God's grace and thanks to my mum, I survived 2 weeks without Darren as he went for his reservist.  2. Jonathan's 1st Birthday Party is happening this Sat, 18 August! I'm so excited =D 3. Detailed scan done this morning. Is going to be a little brother for Jonathan. No chance to buy girly stuff but good for pocket. Jon's clothes can be recycled. 4. Really thank God for His miracle hands. My placenta has moved away from the cervix opening, reducing one less complication. Although 1.3cm away from the internal onus, my heart shouts "Praise the Lord!" 5. However, cervix length is still shortening. Dr Ho is going to admit me when I hit less than 2cm (I'm at 2.5cm now). Going to plan for my home bed rest to avoid the hospital stay. 6. XP2 is really God's little warrior. What a mighty little boy he is, 388g at 20 weeks while mummy is now at pre-preggie weight.  7. We're going to bring Jon to the Garden by the Bay on his act...

18 week and counting

Image
Should I rejoice and be happy that I lost weight in this pregnancy and has not gained any weight at all? do i even look preggie? This pregnancy is really so so different from Jonathan's time. I lost weight, could not eat and faced a multiple of complications. I am now look after by Dr Ho which is really assuring although his bill is not cheap. I'm going back to him every 2 weeks and in a month, the gynae bill is easily 1k. Put aside the bills, my cervix keeps getting shorter. I'm losing 2mm every 2 weeks which I don't know if I can really make it to full term. I would not mind paying the gynae fee if I can keep XP2 inside till full term. Having a premature baby would be the last that I want, although I know at some point of time, I may need to be warded for closer monitoring. For now, as Jesus said "Do not let your hearts be troubled" John 14:14 I believe God will look after us and when a miracle is born, all glory to Him! Amen!

Fullhouse @ Rendevous

Image
Someone recommended me Fullhouse @ Rendevous Hotel. Last Thursday, we took a day leave to run our errands and also to check out suitable venues for Jonathan's birthday party. lunch @ Fullhouse We had our lunch there. Darren ordered a set lunch with mushroom ham spaghetti in cream sauce. The set came with soup of the day (cream of mushroom) and ice lemon tea for $19.90 ++. I ordered an aglio olio that had nothing except garlic and sun dried tomatoes ($13.90++) and a flower tea of peppermint and lavender ($6.90++) The food was so-so and the service was so-so. But the main dining area is spacious. main dining area The place is really ideal for hosting party. Well, the buffet menu is pricey, tagged at $35 per pax to $55 per pax and minimum of 30 pax to use their entertainment room. The entertainment room is well equipped with audi visual equipment and is exclusive to the party group only. private dining room Fullhouse also has smaller dining area ...
