Our 3rd day in Phuket and it was also our 5th Wedding Anniversary. Initially we booked a half day island tour to Khai Nok island but it was cancelled last minute due to insufficient number of participants. I was sorely disappointed because I looked forward to the island trip and bringing the boys out for some sun and surf.
As usual, we started our day early. We were one of the few families that also managed to get to the breakfast point before 8am. This time round, I took photos of the buffet lines which was actually quite sumptuous for the start of the day.

My favourite was the crepes which I could have my own toppings and sauces. There was always the omelettes which you could choose your own toppings and the different styles of eggs you prefer. As usual, the boys would bug us to go once they were done.

This morning without our intended tour, we decided to head down to the private beach. We walked down instead of hitching a buggy ride. I took the opportunity to take photos of the surroundings.

The entire resort was built on a hilly ground. The resort rooms were stacked in low rise buildings and every room has a sea view. It is relatively to walk down because of the declination.
We passed by the Prego pools which was next to the Prego restaurant that served Italian dinner.

The beach access was easy to locate and the resort cordoned off a section for safe swimming. Every morning, we could see staff cleaning up the beach and in the sea so the beach was kept clean all the time.

sand playing |
I picked seashells while Darren played with the boys, building sandcastles. Matt didn't really like the feel of sand on his feet so we decided to head back to the pools instead. We went to Prego pool initially but the lowest depth was at 0.6m. This proved to be challenging for Matt when he wanted to sit down and water play. I decided that we should go Horizon pool so the boys could play better.

We goofed and lounged at the pools. The boys truly loved this part of the vacation. We left after a short while. Lunch was room service again.

Darren thought I am strange. Not eating Thai food over there. Indeed my choice of lunch was garlic naan with tandoori chicken with chocolate mud pie as desert. He had Phai Thai and Tom Yum soup.
After the boys woke up from their nap, we took the 2pm shuttle bus to Patong again. This round, we had some shopping and walked the major stretch of Patong beach. The boys chased the pigeons and played with the sand again.
Dinner was at MK restaurant. This was the only meal that Matt finished a whole bowl of noodles. This was also the first time we had steamboat dinner with the boys alone.

The steamboat dinner added a nice finishing touch to our Day 3.
