For now….

Today I went through what I would call a preview of P1 registration… the uncertainty, the anxiety, the doubt and the relief.

To cut the long story short, we have been searching for alternatives ever since Mindchamps "rejected" Matthew and then hubby talked to the operation manager and she offered us another option of deferment to next year. Before all these happened, we looked at several childcare centres and even church kindergartens. For childcare centres, we couldn't find anything we like. Learning Vision came close but we changed our mind at the 3rd visit to the centre. Church kindergartens were popular and by the time we decided to look into it, most of the registration was over.

As I put it, if God is willing, He will open a door for Matthew… and we came to know about Clementi Woods Kindergarten. Pleasantly surprised that we were still in time for the registration and we booked ourselves a school tour last Friday. Before that, I sent hubby to find out if there's still vacancies after the initial phrases for Church members and siblings of existing students. The staff couldn't commit but hubby told me that the environment was good.

Indeed at the school tour, I was impressed by the teachers and the school compound. The only drawback is Church Kindergarten operates like Primary School schedule and it's only for 3 hours. Also, while at the school tour, we were told that only 5 vacancies for the morning session were left and another mummy that was also in the school tour told us her neighbour queued overnight at 2am to get the morning session slot. Gosh, we didn't that it was that popular.

So today was D-day, I reached at 8.15am (registration started at 8.30am) and I was already #27 in queue.

Morning slots were taken up and a decision had to make whether we should take up the PM session which is 11.30am to 2.30pm. Made a few phone calls to hubby and in the end, we decided to take up the PM session.

So the plan now is to let Matthew attends Clementi Woods Kindergarten first. For Matthew, we have to consider many factors and mainly is the exposure to germs so attending 3hr playgroup program seems to be the most appropriate. Afterwhich, we may want to put him back at Mindchamps if things work out or get Jonathan to join Matthew at CWK.

For now, Matthew's preschool education is settled. However, the anxious feeling is not over yet. Maid-less June is coming and a 3-week overseas work trip in July is making me tossing on my bed at night.
