Medley of a Celebration
Birthday came and went. It was a nice celebration with a few small surprises and hiccups.
Friday surprise came with Awfully Chocolate Cake in rum and cherry flavour.
Saturday ... he was late for a total 20 mins. Reason being : to pick up this lovely bouquet of Gerberas. But still ... is just an excuse
Risottoes rice with seafood and olives
Last but not forgetting, a rich Tiramisu to end off a hearty Italian afternoon. Mama Mia!
We ended the day with our maiden trip to Dempsey Road. We parked our car at the bottom of the hill and walked our walk in. We were thrown off guards with the dimly lit road and the number of cars weaving in and out from the bends and turns. Almost lost our way at one point because I refused to step into the Unknown. Well, with the dark gloomy forested background, who can blame me? All in my head was some man-eating komodo dragon stalking us. (Blame it on The Lost Tapes, every Tuesday at 9pm, at Discovery channel)
Finally, we saw the light at the end of tunnel.
Wandered off into some of the shops and finally settled down at the familiar Dome's.
Tandoori chicken wrap... anyone?
Squid ink linguine with seafood.
With that, we made our way back to the car. While exploring a new route, we were startled by this couple making out openly at the bench. We scrambled away like 2 frightened kids and decided that Dempsey is not our type. Better to stay home with cuppa green tea and a good book!

Next hiccup was at FireStation
The surprise birthday was supposedly to be at this secluded Firestation along Bukit Timah road. However, it was so secluded that it was not opened for lunch.

We went off to search for another place. Initially wanted to go to this chill out place but turned out, it has closed down. In the end, we went to Pasta Fresca for some good Italian food.
Cream of Mushroom for the start
