The Long List
Just feeling extremely vexed over the long list of stuff to prepare for a wedding. I don't know how a simple wedding can accumulate such a massive list of tasks to fulfill.
First, the date and the venue must be secured. We got the date though it wasn't the ideal date. Hence now and then, the mother will make some noise about it. Well, why wasn't it an ideal date? Because according to the Tong Shu (the ancient chinese almanac), the date we selected had a "danger" sign in it. What sort of "danger"? I don't know.
But since we are both Christians and we know better to trust in our faithful God, we decided to stick to this date. Hmm... it has no meaning to us so if I want to change the date, I guess I have my wedding on our anniversary date which will postpone the wedding further.
Next the venue. Thank God for answered prayer. We got our venue of choice and at the timing we want. Can you imagine the complications if we would change our date?! We waited for almost 6 months before we got a confirmed answer for our venue. People has told us that we are blessed because usually the confirmation comes 3 months before your wedding. *Gulps*
Then there is the photographers. We need one for the wedding and another one to do our pre-wedding album. And we are at this dilemma whether we should spend 2k on photography knowing that everything is going to collect dust post 3 months the wedding. On the other hand, a picture speaks a thousand word. Won't it be great to flip thru those photos and reminisce the wedding day?
Of course, there is the housing problem which remains the biggest problem we have. We are neither here nor there to be granted a HDB loan by default or given a housing grant for opting to stay near parents. Our only choice is the bank loan which only loans us 80% of the valuation price. A quick calculation shows that we have to cough up more cash to cover the shortfall.
So we are stuck.
These are just the big ticket items that have to resolved soon, not counting the miscellaneous stuff you need.
I don't know... there's just too many things to settle. Many a times, I wonder if at the end of the year, will there be a wedding?
