Overdue : Legoland

18 - 20 March 2015

Legoland Trip with my brother's family and parents. It was a dream come true for Jonathan as he had been talking about Legoland since last year. After we booked the trip, he started to countdown the days before he could sit on the coach and head to his dream land.

Matt in his coach ride

We went by package tour with WTS that arranged for our coach rides (2 way transfer), our 3D2N hotel stay at Legoland hotel itself and combo theme park tickets with multiple passes for 2 days plus daily breakfast. Everything was smooth. We selected Big Box as our pick up point and the coach came on time. It was a smooth ride with no delay and we arrived at Legoland before 11.30am.

fun fun fun

The boys totally loved the Legoland hotel. The reason was simple, it spelled FUN. Once we stepped into the hotel lobby, it was Lego everywhere. So while the adults were busy checking in and depositing our luggages with the concierge, the boys entertained themselves with the Lego bricks.

Joy ride @ Medini Mall

We had lunch at the nearby Medini Mall and then the families split for their own activities. We decided to walk around the theme park to familiarise ourselves with the facilities. Most of the rides are not suitable for the boys but that didn't dampened their spirit at all.

Father & Son Team

We went for the Legoland Express train which  is made to look like a Lego train. The train went round the theme park so it was like a tour to the theme park. By now, the boys were hot and sweaty, plus tired. They hadn't had their afternoon nap. We then took refuge at a aircon cafe which the boys immediately fell asleep. The adults took a break from the scorching sun and headed back to hotel for our check-in after we had cooled down enough.

We got the premium adventure theme room and it was fantastic! It featured a King size bed with another bunk bed with a pull out truck. So this room could fit 5 occupants easily and comfortably. There were many motifs made with Lego bricks and there was even a treasure chest box which we tried to decode.

More Lego

Lego bricks are really everywhere. In each room, there is a box of Lego bricks for the kids to play. I am truly impressed with this Legoland Hotel.

Water Theme Park

Our room faced the water theme park and so we could have a bird eye view of the water theme park and mentally noted the areas we could head to with the boys.

Later in the evening, we headed to the theme park again and walked around. Though the sun was setting, it was still hot. We managed to go for a few more rides.

Kingdom Theme

The theme park was divided into several thematic playgrounds. We did the boating school, played gun shooting in the Kingdom, did a Bouncy Beetle with Matt, went up in the Observation Tower. We also visited the Star Wars gallery and I had a round of roller coaster on my own.

We spent the 2nd day at the Water Theme Park which was much more cooling and fun for the boys. Unfortunately, I didn't had any photos as it was difficult to juggle the boys and camera. We had lots of fun with the lazy river, the zoo pool, water play area and the wave pool. The park had life jackets for the kids. Thumbs up for that!

Before the 2nd day ended, we shopped at the souvenir store and the boys push their own carts to shop for their toys. Dinner was at Di Mattoni in the hotel itself. The Italian cuisine was very good and I would enjoy the meal more if the kids were less cranky.

Legoland Mascot

Did I mention our buffet breakfast at the Brick Restaurant? Lots of varieties of breakfast choice with large sitting capacity. I love how the management even considered plastic bowls and small spoons for the kids. Definitely a good family vacation spot.

There were also fairytale character's mascots walking around which everyone would crowd around for photo taking. As you can see, Matt was extremely wary of such mascots.

swimming at hotel pool

Before we checked out on our last day, the boys had a quick dip in the hotel pool which was located at the 5th floor. The pools are not big but good enough for the boys to have some good splashing times. After checking out and depositing our luggages at the concierge, we took a cab to Johor Premium Outlets. Lunch was taken at Taang Shifu which really had very good and yummy soup.

chilling out at CBTL

Shopping at JPO was relatively easy with the boys in the rental push car. They had fun and I could shop. The husband paid. Perfect combination.

my new wallet

I got a new Coach Wallet and he got himself a soccer jersey from Nike. We then chilled at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. The boys had chocolate cake and we enjoyed our latte with the much needed aircon.

The cab returned a few hours later to send us back to the hotel. We boarded the coach at about 4.30pm  to return home. It was an uneventful ride but Matt was so tired that he got very cranky at the end of the day.

Legoland was fun, Jonathan loved it including myself. But we thought it might be better if we wait for the boys to grow taller first so they could enjoy more rides. It was a good trip, a good bonding time and definitely we would be back for more!
