Colbar

Darren decided to bring me to Colbar - an unpretentious old school canteen located at Portsdown Road. the legend continues indoor dining Check out the kampong house with wooden furnitures. It brought about a nostalgic sense which was clearly missed in today's concrete jungle. The menu was a non-fussy folded laminated sheet which showcased their large varieties of mouth-watering dishes. We sat at the outdoor dining area which was really well ventilated with ceiling fans. The greeneries surrounding the eatery made the environment cooling despite the sun shining brightly. the menu simple menu Colbar offers western and chinese dishes, from simple side dishes like fries and sandwiches to steak and burger. There are also the regular Zhi Char stall dishes like hor fun. tomato soup We had tomato soup ($3.50) which was the clear broth type and even got a little surprise by finding an A in it. Graded A  Darren had hor fun ($7) which

14 February 2014 was such a special day. Not only it was Valentine's Day which couples celebrated their love. We also called it a Friendship day which I thanked God for 3 very special friends that He put them into my life. Then 14 February also coincided with the Chinese 元宵节 which was the 15th day of the Lunar month. If you hadn't noticed, 14 February 2014 written in the DDMMYYYY format was 14022014. Repeated numbers 1402 and 2014. How often do we get such coincidence? Perhaps never again. Hence, it was not surprising that I woke up to my FB news feed flooded with surprises from their significant others. As for me, I didn't expect anything from erhm... the husband. My office lunch kakis have joked that our husbands' romantic traits had gone with the wind the day we signed on the dotted lines. Yet, he surprised me this little bouquet of Gerberas, in bright red no less. He said this was not a last minute purchase and he had started looking out for flowers since Wed

He's my brother ; He's my son!

Really thank God for both my sons and especially for Jonathan to be unaffected during Matthew's hospitalisation period. This little boy has a heart of compassion and empathy. He came and hugged me after I received news from Darren that Matthew was not doing well. Jonathan hugged me three times, looking at me into my eyes as if telling me that don't to worry and he is here to share my burden with me. He would call out Matt Matt when we entered into the hospital compound and when my mum asked him where I was, he would point and said "di di mummy", meaning that I was with Matt. We had to put Jonathan with mother-in-law on Sunday evening. He put up a strong front. My MIL later told me when people walked past the corridor, Jon would say "mummy mummy", thinking we were back to pick him up. When my mum came to pick him up, my MIL told my mum this, Jon's eyes turned red. He missed us yet he understood that di di needed us more. Such a thoughtful boy.

Our Quiet CNY

This is the most quiet Chinese New Year I ever had to date. Because of Matthew, we only managed to have reunion dinners at both parents' place and house visiting to parents' places on the first day. Jonathan also didn't attend school during Matthew's hospitalization period. But glad he could still make it to his school's CNY celebration. outfit for school CNY celebration Goodies from school celebrating at 奶奶 house celebrating at 婆婆 house summary of our CNY

we are home bound. 23 January I came back from work early as Jonathan was going for a speech development assessment. I was home at 5pm and had my dinner. Matthew was looking well and we played for a while. When we left at 5.30pm, Matthew was having his dinner. He looked tired and wanted me to carry him. So I told the maid to let him nap after dinner. At 6.30pm, the maid came and spoke to me in a panicky voice " Mdm... come home fast. Matt ... very sick " I told the therapist that I needed to rush home and while in the car, my maid called again " Mdm... how long more. Matt very sick. Shake shake. I very scared " My heart wanted to pop out by this. Her English was not good and in between, while trying to understand what had happened and what could be done, I was shaking myself. When we finally got home at 7pm, Matt was lying on the bed. Motionlessly. He couldn't even stirred himself up and looked at me in daze. I took the thermometer, it was 40oC. I
