Dearest Buddy

Image
is one that loans me her shoulder and gives me lotsa hugs when I am sad, frighten, lonely and worried. She never fails to encourage me even when we are miles apart. Last week, she was in town for work and we managed to meet up twice for meals. There are still so many things to say and I doubt we ever will run out of topics. If we are 2 young girls living in hostel, I could imagine us staying up till late at night, chatting on random topics. Such is a friendship that God has blessed! Jonathan's Progress Report

Image
We finally received the CD of class activities photos and progress reports from Mindchamps. This is one strong point I like about Mindchamps, not only do I get a detailed write up on Jonathan's academic progress, I also get to know what had been taught in the past terms. Glad to Jonathan was able to identify his name in print, able to participate in the class activities independently and could grasp the concept of numbers. foot printing making animal shaped sandwich learning colours writing Besides the academic progress, I was also shown the various types of activities he did in school to reinforce what was taught. Most importantly, I am really happy that he has finally settled well in school.   The morning struggle has not fade totally but he has been less resistant in changing into his school uniform and getting into car. I guess the main reason and the major credits should go to his teachers, both his PG teachers and his current N1 teachers. ...

Frivolous January

A frivolous update for the month of January. Pineapple Tarts One of the must-have for CNY would be the pineapple tarts. I heard rave reviews of this unassuming brand "Glory" that made really good pineapple tarts. In fact by the time I got to NTUC, the open faced pineapple tarts were out of stock. I only managed to get the round covered ones. Glory Pineapple Tarts Yours Truly On a personal note, I noticed that most of the holiday photos were without me in it, hence I'm posting this selfie. Looking at this photo, I wonder when will I ever get my long hair back. selfie Candy Crush Candy Crush, the game that took the world by storm which probably had died down. However, I am still keeping up with the game. Clearing the levels really slowly. At level 104, I got a personal best. I have succumbed ...

Image
Called me a tiger mum or what, I have succumbed to the stress and the kiasu-nism of this rat race society. I have enrolled Jonathan for his 1st academic course at Heguru. I had actually attended the parent information session sometime in November last year and thought the program was impressive. However after discussion with Darren, we decided to hold back first to give Jon a more enjoyable childhood. This decision did not last too long. I was sent to a depression when I felt that Jon's peers were doing so much better than him. Plus his crazy obsession with washing machine sent me to a frenzy. So after hearing from a colleague how beneficial Heguru program is for her 3 year old son, I decided there and then I need to make a change. So I marched up to Heguru centre and enrolled Jon on the spot yesterday. Meaning he is going to start his 1st lesson today. Heguru is about Right Brain Training and being in the neuroscience research, I quite believe the potential of a right human...
