1st Birthday of the Year

One day Darren turned to me and said that we have a birthday every quarter of the year. Starting with him in March, then mine in May, Jonathan's turn in August and finally December for Matthew.

So we celebrated Darren's birthday in a simple fashion. Lunch at Sakuraya and dinner at the in-laws, followed by cake. I lamented as we age, the birthday celebration just get more and more simple. I guess this is a new phrase for us with young children. The kids take centre stage and rest of the things take a back seat for the time being.
