Bad, Sick and Beyond

Image
The weather is bad, HOT HOT HOT and is also HUMID!!!! Even after a shower, it is still so HOT and HUMID. I seldom complain about the weather but this round, even when I'm doing nothing, I'm perspiring like mad. I really dislike to perspire and this turns my mood to be extremely grouchy. Not that I want to blame the weather, but it is so damned freaking HOT that Jonathan had fever twice. The second time, we were not lucky anymore. His fever escalated into flu and his nose became like a leaky tap. For the entire this week, he became a stay-at-home boy. While I was conscientious about cleanliness, Matthew still caught the virus from him. getting his nebuilizer  treatment His cough was so phlegmy that we rushed him to the PD before the start of long weekend. A whole lot of medications was prescribed for my 3 month baby. The medication is just so much that I don't even know where to begin and how to give. Because of my 2 sick children, I was barely at work too. ...

dead tired

Image
I have returned to work last week, earlier than planned. Now, I am dead tired. I could really knock out wherever and whenever I have a free moment. I can't even remember if I was so tired during Jonathan's time. Jonathan has been attending Mindchamps for 2 weeks already. Every morning, he would still cry at the door but would be ecstatic when he sees us coming to pick him up. He is learning to self feed and drinking from cup. According to his teachers, he is also very vocal in class although most of the times, he still can't the pronunciation right. As for little Matthew, he turned 3 month old on the 16th. Matthew His growth is excellent (exact words by his PD). Matthew is 7.11kg and 61.5cm tall. He's really bigger than his brother at the same age. I am still breastfeeding him. 3 months of total breastmilk diet, I'm really happy. EBM waiting to be cleared What makes me even happier is that I could actually have surplus to freeze. my ...

A New Beginning

Image
1st March 2013 marks a new chapter in Jonathan's life. For the first time, he worn a school uniform and went to school. excited about going to school He was really excited and had no idea what's going to happen. Day 1 of Mindchamps where his shoes were kept I was allowed to sit in with him. We reached at 9am and did the necessary health check. We were brought to a combined playgroup class for singalong session. Afterwhich, we were then brought to Jonathan's classroom where they had their morning tea break and lessons. Diaper change was done before gym class. The 1st crying episode started at gym class when I was not in the line of his sight. I didn't want to rush to comfort, allowing the teachers to handle him. Only when he started wailing, then I went over. From then on, he cling to me. 2nd crying fit happened when I had to take a toilet break. He was wailing so loudly when I returned and he took some time to calm down. eating by hims...

1st Birthday of the Year

Image
One day Darren turned to me and said that we have a birthday every quarter of the year. Starting with him in March, then mine in May, Jonathan's turn in August and finally December for Matthew. So we celebrated Darren's birthday in a simple fashion. Lunch at Sakuraya and dinner at the in-laws, followed by cake. I lamented as we age, the birthday celebration just get more and more simple. I guess this is a new phrase for us with young children. The kids take centre stage and rest of the things take a back seat for the time being.

3 month... soon

Image
I'm returning work soon. Sigh! This is the period where Matthew is at his cutest. Turning 12 weeks in 2 days' time, Matthew is getting more interactive, more smiley and chubbier. So much chubbier than Jonathan at the same age and is no wonder that Matthew always struggle at tummy time. And Matthew is fitting into the Combi Coccoro carseat snugly. I think in a few months time, we need another upgrade. I'm also happy that up to now, Matthew is still on total breastmilk diet. Hope he can still enjoy this exclusive diet when I return to work.

Tickle Tickle

We didn't make it to Honkey Pokey before they were closed for relocation. To make it up, I brought Jonathan to Tickle Tickle. I heard about this unique indoor playground with its theme setup. However, the place was a little difficult to find. By the time we reached there, I felt that I had a good workout - sweating profusely. Nonetheless, Jonathan enjoyed his time there. Jonathan went for this little tike's car first. He really enjoyed it so much that I had to spend quite a long while to coax him try other toys. When he got up, he went for another car. While we were zipping around, he suddenly caught an eye for the doll house that were displayed right in the middle. So he made a dash for it, opening and closing the doors and the windows. Tickle Tickle has 4 main themes - my house, cafe, supermart and car garage. Strangely, Jonathan did not even stepped into the cafe and car garage. Instead, he had a fun time pushing the mini trol...
