my TROUBLESOME iphone

I got my iphone 4 on Sunday. I thought it would be great after that but iphone 4 showed that even designer phone had its complexity and probems. I got a whole list of problems that was tagged directly or indirectly to my iphone. 1. In the M1 shope @ IMM, we went to the kiosk to get a Q no. since I was doing a re-contract. Problem - Kiosk machine flashed error message and said I was not allow to re-contract. What?! I am more than eligible to sign a new contract and upgrade my handset since my contract expired donkey years ago. Solution - joined the snake queue and get a Q no. manually. 2. It was a good thing that I voiced out to the counter staff #1 that I am on corporate plan and I'm getting an iphone. Because there's an administrative problem. Problem - Counter staff is not allowed to change customer's plan. Solution - I had to call 1622 to tell the operator that I need to change my SunSaver plan to the iphone value plan. 3. So I thought that's it. I could go home and ...

Always Loved

My Robo is getting old. He's easily 1 year 9 months old. Considered very old for a little hamster. He used to be so fat and round, now he has shrunk in size. But he is still the ninja Robo that darts around when he's out of his house. If he can understand me, I just want to tell him... he is always my Robo... always loved.

中秋节

Image
Celebrated our 1st 中秋节 as married couple in such a low key style. Mainly because dear hubby was not available until 8pm and I didn't fancy any of the regular mooncakes the credit card companies were promoting. I wanted exotic , out- of -the- world flavour mooncakes. This year, only bought a box of snowskin mooncakes from Swissotel Merchant Court, for my mum. Mother-in-law gave me one piece of the baked mooncakes from Shangri-la which unfortunately exploded in the microwave oven when we tried to heat it up. (We kept the mooncake in the fridge.) So with a half eaten pomelo and 2 traditional lanterns, we had our 中秋节 . This small little lantern got burnt through by the candle. Was a good thing that my house or Robo's house didn't caught fire because of this. A random carton-based paper lantern. I hanged it on top of Robo's house but he thought it was something he could eat!! And that's our 中秋节 .

All that Cooking!

Image
When I have the time, I cook and cook and cook..... Last long weekend, it was cooking time again... I decided to do baked mussels. Sometime, somewhere in my blog, someone mentioned I could use Mozzarella cheese for baking. Doesn't that look great! It tasted good too, except that it was a little dry. But my guests came like 3 hours later and I had to re-heat my baked mussels which was a totally wrong move. The whole baked mussel was hard like a rock. So the lesson learnt was to bake just when the guests have arrived. This would ensure that your bake is hot from the oven. Some months ago, I bought a pack of almond jelly powder and a can of longans. The instruction was to boil 500ml of water and dissolve the whole pack. I didn't have a measuring cup with me. Haha.. this was when the work experience came in. My "agaration" (estimation) of 500ml was close enough to allow my dessert to be just right in texture and taste. We mixed the longans in the jelly. And created this ...

Istana Tour

Image
Last Friday which was Hari Raya, was also Istana Open House day. We went over there for a stroll after a heavy high tea at Lao Beijing. The weather was a little drizzling but it was better than having the sun scorching down on us. Entry to the Istana was free for Singaporeans and Singapore PR. Foreigners paid $1 as a token which would be donated to the charity. The Crest A map to help the visitors to know where they are. I was surprised that there were 2 swans in the pond. For a moment, it looked like we were in the Botanical Garden. A replica of the olden day's cannon The main building in Istana. Admission was by a separate ticket @ $2 each person. No photography is allowed in there. The main building was the place where the ceremonies and official receptions held. Various souvenirs and gifts from international countries were on display too. The city view from the highest point in Istana. Ticket slips for remembrance.

A Long Note

It has been really a long time since I logged in. So what's going on? Many things have happened... but I would really like to jot this down. To remind myself that even in the chaos and crisis, I can even see God's hands at work. I would like to start with my Pastor. One particular Sunday, my Pastor suddenly asked about my Quiet Time. This question jolted me straight up. Because I hadn't been faithful with my walk with God. During that period, I struggled alot, mainly because of work. At the end, I changed my lifestyle. Instead of always putting my Quiet time as the last thing before I sleep, I wake up earlier to do my Quiet time in the morning. It's my way of putting God first in my life. That's was not all. Then at one Sunday service, the preacher was telling the congregation about living God's character in the marketplace. One example, in Ephesians 6 : 5 - 8, Paul was telling the slaves to serve their masters wholeheartedly, as if in serving God. If that was f...
