32-2

Monday 17 May 2010

10am - woke up with a bad start. Oh oh! Back pain still there. Called up the clinic to request for medication but was told to come in for a review with the doctor. Arranged for an appointment at 2.15pm.

12pm - changed and headed to Dempsey for lunch @ PS Cafe. Got our table in a swift though restaurant was quite packed with lunch crowd.

We looked through the menu and decided to order a Caesar salad which was really huge in portion.

I really liked this caesar salad. I liked the way the dressing was mixed with the veggie, evenly done. What's really more special was this skewer of toasted breads. The taste was really unique, something like the Indian herbs and a tinge of tandoori flavour. Priced at $18, this was worth it.

Next up, Portobello soup. Again huge in portion, served in a aladdin lamp. I would say that this soup was more of a mushroom blended baby food than really a soup. At $13, take it if you would prefer a more "solid" soup.

Our mains.....

His : Bolognaise Pasta ($22)

Mine : Beer Battered Fish and Chips ($28)

Hmm... we didn't really like our mains. His pasta was dry. My fish and chips were very salty. Even though the dipping sauce was really unique, like a tom yam thousand island and their home made tar tar sauce. The salty level really put me off.

Our experience at PS cafe was a disappointment. The ambience was really good but the food didn't suit our taste buds. For a lunch for 2 at $95 (total cost) and there's no dessert, this was going to be our first and last time there.

2.15pm - At Gleneagles medical centre, waiting for my turn. A 5 minutes review and a bag of medication set me $200 poorer.

4pm - Watched Robin Hood at PS Plaza. The man loved it but the woman was lukewarm. Didn't expect the movie to be 2 hours long. At times, I found the movie draggy. At times, the movie was entertaining. But surely this was a guy's movie. Haha...

8pm - Headed to West Coast Plaza for dinner. Because of the expensive lunch, we went for a tried and tested dinner. Sakuraya for a fresh sashimi dinner.

Look at our "fresh catch".

9.30pm - Home Sweet Home.

my birthday cake from Swiss Bake.

Cake cutting ceremony, imprinted for memory.
