I'm Loving It!

Woke up early this morning before 8am to start my day as a typical housewife. Put in the laundry for washing, did my ironing and of course, making the 爱心 breakfast. With limited ingredients*, I made an egg mayonnaise sandwich - the Apple style. Ingredients* 1) 2 hard boiled eggs, smashed 2) a little bit of mayonnaise (I used the japanese type) 3) a little pepper 4) a little of the Hot and Spicy seasoning, leftover from the Mac Donald's fries 5) Wholemeal Bread 6) Cheese Method 1) Add 1 - 4 together, spread butter on the bread. 2) Add your cheese 3) Add another piece of butter spreaded bread. 4) Microwave for 25 sec. There you go.... Egg Mayo Sandwich. It actually tasted quite good and better when it's hot with the melted cheese. The next grocery shopping trip, I should add cucumber, tomato and lettuce in my list. It would perfect my sandwich.

Back to Business

The Apple's Diary is back to business. Hope you like my total revamp, away from the usual pink. This round I opted for something in the greyish blue zone. So wakie wakie... and time to snoop around the Apple's life.

Under Construction

Oh dear! In my attempt to refresh my blog... it seems that I have made it worse... The Apple's Diary is closed for a total revamp.

Finally...

my wedding album is ready for collection. On the other note, Da Ren 先生 has confirmed his business trip to Sdyney. So is Home Alone Season 2.

The Wedding Photographs

Nope... it is not my wedding photographs. In fact, I haven't got back my wedding album. Not rushing the photographers but occasionally, when I remembered, I would bug them abit. So the latest news was that the album would be ready this week. Anyway, I'm not posting about my own wedding photos. Sometimes, I do surf the photographers website to check out their work. Recently, they did up a slideshow on their work captured in the Year 2009. I thought it was fanstatic! I like wedding photographs that give me a sense of happiness, blissfulness and the touch of family warmth. I like wedding photographs that could tell me the love the couple shared and the best wishes their friends had for the couple. Sharing the work from Absolut Resolution Photography Pre-Wedding/ Outdoor Wedding 2009 Wedding Day Celebration 2009 Enjoy!

It's a BUG life

I'm totally disgusted by it. I can't even "blog" about it coherently. Where should I even begin? Back track to mid-Feb, less than a month we shifted in. It was during the hot and dry season that we had problems with the flying insects. Think moth and some other creepy, disgusting, irritating bugs. It was not just one or two. Anyway, we exterminated all these creepies and bought many insect repellents. So all was well until on 2 consecutive days, we found worms crawling at the fridge area and on the kitchen bench top. We thought it was a one off thing since we were near to the trees and we usually left the windows opened, the worms might have been blown in instead. This was when the nightmare began. Yesterday morning, I found worms crawling around again. Freak! I investigated their trail and it linked back to my rice container. Horror! Horror! Horror! Our rice container was infested with them. Horror! Horror! Horror! Last night, we had to clear away our 7kg worth of ri

Thrown into a Whirlpool

I feel that this year is kinda rough on me. Nothing really goes smooth. I just feel that I'm sucked into a whirlpool of unknowns. I want to rant and rave about all the difficulties, the problems, the troubles I've encountered. But do I really qualify to grumble about my life? I consoled myself that there are people out there, experiencing worse fates than me. But is all these suppression really good for the body and mind? Perhaps I have been eating the wrong kind of food. "He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD . " Deuteronomy 8:3 (NIV) I need a spiritual revival.

My 2nd attempt of doing a home cooked dinner on last Sunday. My mum was my Guest of Honour. I did a simple fare of steamed tofu with minced meat. Stir-fried Cai Xin with mushrooms and a Yong Tau Foo soup. I was given 2 thumbs up this time. =D Verdict : Passed.

The Untold Story Part 3

The final episode to the untold side of Maldives. Who can say he has been to Maldives if he has not experienced the sea, the sky and the water? While work is work, there are times for that beach experience. As with all tour guide books, the clear sea water of Maldives is definitely the star attraction. Check it out ;p so clear till you see the fishes underneath gorgeous skyline that kind of 2 tone water After 3 days of hard work, Darren's customers treated them to BBQ - in the primitive style. Half drum filled with sand and coconut husks. Starting fire with from scratch. Instead of chicken wings and sausages, theirs was 3 big fishes. fishes being BB Q and the end product and with that, it's the end of the Maldives trip - the untold side of beautiful beaches.

The Untold Story Part 2

The landscape of Male looks like Singapore in the 70s. Short building and narrow streets. But this is hardling surprising as Maldives is made up of many islands and Male is one of the many islands. Walking from end to end takes about 45 mins only, so no prize on guessing the area of Male correctly. the landscape the street police @ work boat ride - the way of life Are you disappointed by now there's no mention of clear blue water? Don't be. This is just Male. The real action is all the resort islands where fine sand, beautiful beaches, clear sea water lie. Check out the next episode.

The Untold Story Part 1

Maldives is the dream destination for many and this includes me! The fine sand, the clear water, the exciting underwater world... but these are not certainly my kind of budget holiday. When Darren received news he was going to Maldives to work, we were both excited at the prospect of having a short getaway at Maldives. But he was given only a week's notice and it was quite hard for me to make arrangement in such short time frame. Plus, the rate of a water bungalow per night was too much on our pocket. Estimated to be at least SGD 1k per night. I reckoned it might be cheaper if we were to buy a Maldives package from our local agent and enjoyed a 3 night stay instead of a short 2 night stay at the same price. So I stayed put and off he went and a week passed, he's back with the untold side of Maldives. Since he went there to work, he practically eat, live and sleep like the local Maldivian. So here am I... relating the untold side of Maldives. The Untold Story of Maldives - Part

It was a simple celebration. The original plan was with the theme "Go West". A brunch at PS Cafe @ Harding Road was the birthday surprise. But with his Maldives trip, the whole plan was totally changed. Bought his present when he was not around that week. Left it in the study room which he didn't even noticed until after very strong hint that "there's something new in the house". We had dinner at Imperial Treasure at Great World City today. It was our first try at Imperial Treasure. We didn't really know how to appreciate their cold crab for appetizer. Their shark fin soup was quite good with a good dose of shark fin and crab meat. The steamed "Soon Hock" was really fresh. By then, I was already 80% full and the next dish was Kai Lan with ginger and wine. It was interesting. Our last dish was braised thick noodle with mushroom but the thick noodle looked more like miniature mee pok to me. Their dessert was red bean cream with lian zi. We the

三菜一汤

That's what I did last night. Cooked a complete dinner for hubby and mother-in-law. Dinner menu : 1) Mixed Brown Rice with Regular Plain Rice. I was actually quite astonished by the amount of rice I needed to cook for a party of 3. Wonder was it the rice, or the water or the cooker, but I need to cook a 3 mugfuls of rice to get a decent portion. Plus, the rice seemed to absorb the water alot. Turned out that my rice was very hard and dry. Lesson learnt : Add more water. Add more rice. 2) Stir Fry Pork Loin Slices with Mushrooms and Asparagus. I thought it turned out quite well, the taste and the look. Just that the meat was tough. Lesson learnt : Do not simmer for too long if meat is added. 3) Fishball Soup with Leafy Vegetables Was surprised there's taste in the soup as I did not have ikan bilis to use as stock. So I added salt and light soya sauce for taste. The leafy vegetables gave a tint of green to the soup. Lesson learnt : Got to stock up on ikan bilis or soya bean for
