Xmas Tree Edition

Image
Jingle bell, Jingle bell, Jingle all the way! The first Xmas tree we saw at Orchard was from Ion. There's even a small entrance door to the interior. Look up at the wonder of lights! Blissfully fat and round in the Ion Xmas Tree. Nice big Fairmont Xmas tree to pose with. And the forever big Vivocity Xmas tree lit up in the outdoor. Makes me feel that I in a winter wonderland with the bright lights. A little plain at Sentosa but nonetheless, size is all it matters. Wishing everyone a blessed Xmas with good tidings! I'm going to tuck in more turkey and ham...

Pre-Christmas Lunch @ Tanglin Club

Image
I met 2 lovely friends from church for a pre-Christmas lunch on Tuesday. While our usual haunt was Holland Village, we decided we would go a little further to have an elaborate set lunch, just to soak in the festive atmosphere. Raelene suggested dining at the Churchill Room in Tanglin Club. There, they offered traditional English lunches and it was a good opportunity to learn from the experienced social etiquette coach. We arrived to be greeted by this magnificient Christmas tree. It was a live tree and you could literally sniff the musky scent from the tree. We promptly got someone to take a group photo before we adjourned to the Churchill Room. From Left: Raelene, that's me! and Li Peng. Friends of all ages and races. Amazing friendship by God's grace! Raelene was so thoughtful. She bought us gingerbread man! She exclaimed that it won't be like Christmas without gingerbread. Another surprise from her... cracker! I see it often but I'm not sure what it is for actually....

Counter-Strike

This morning when I opened my blog to do my daily bread reading, I was shocked to see my apple counter had gone haywired. Instead of accumulating the number of visit to this blog, it started from the beginning again. Oh well, since that happened, I changed it to the blogspot counter. Strangely, it registered a 2000+ visit. I wonder when did all these happen? Anyway, 2 days more to Xmas. I have started my countdown...

RWS

Last Friday, we caught Voyage de la Vie. Actually we got the complimentary tickets, all thanks to this guy. Mr Jeff Mui, good working partner/ buddy/ colleague and friend of Mr Darren Poh. We went down to Vivocity early for dinner and then we took the rail to Sentosa. This was our 1st time going into Sentosa on our own, previous times were because of company's events. The rail worked like our SMRT trains, you could use your Ez-link card to gain entry. We alighted at the 2nd stop and ta da... Resort World Sentosa - Singapore. Once we stepped into RWS, we were being transported to Genting Highlands, minus the mist and fog and cooling weather. Everything was a mimic to the Genting place. Voyage de la Vie was showing next to the Casino..... What an integrated resort! The family entertainment venue place right next to the gambling den. Anyway, we were early and there was this bell choir doing their jiggles for X'mas. Since Voyage de la Vie does not allow photography, I can only use ...

Cafe Swiss

Image
Every year for the Er Mei gang, we would have a celebratory dinner during Xmas period. However this year, the gang dwindled in numbers. Partly because Yagazi left us for her greener pasture, Mr How Loo? just got back from his trip (need to accompany his gal) and also my cubicle neighbour was away for her honeymoon. Nonetheless we, the fabulous 4, decided we would still carry on the tradition. The date was picked and we set off.... to Cafe Swiss. A group photo before we dived into the glory of Swiss food. Ever since I tried cheese and cracker at Fullerton, I was hooked. So when I saw Cafe Swiss offered cheese platter, I went for it first. Though the cheese was not as good as the one in Fullerton, I was satisfied. I wasted no time in sampling other food. What about carrot soup that looked like pumpkin soup and tasted like one too? But it was still good in taste. Who cared about the identify crisis! Crayfish Salad... very generous with their crayfish. No one was sure what this was. I thou...
