BBQ Seafood

Haven't had BBQ Seafood for a long while. The last round I had was in 2007. I remembered that time, we just started to Par Tok (dating). On that particular weekend we took a bus from Great World City, after catching a movie to Alexandra Village (AV) for BBQ Seafood. The food was so spicy hot that I had to gulp down 2 glasses of sugar canes and could still feel my stomach churning. That was the good old days!

But good old days don't have to be too far from us. We can also revisit the places that bring us wonderful and funny memories. Last weekend, we visited Rong Guang at AV again.

It was 6.30pm when we reached there. Surprisingly, it was not very crowded, we managed to find a table and the food was served pretty fast too. Remembering the last lesson, we decided to go for only 1 spicy BBQ seafood and tried their Herbal Chicken instead.

So we ordered the white clam shells "La La". A portion for 2 cost around $8. I think the portion was just right for 2. Yes, it was very spicy hot but their sambal chilli is not just spicy hot, it also has flavour. If you like spicy food, this is a good place for you to try.

Instead of BBQ stingray, we opted for Herbal Chicken. It comes in only one size, $12. But is a whole small chicken. The herbal soup base is rich, the chicken is not exactly very tender, but for $12, is do-able. At least, this is better than the herbal chicken that is sold in my company's canteen.

We usually have a plate of veggie with us and very often, it would be stir-fried Jie Lan with garlic. However, we didn't specify clearly when we placed the order, so it was stir-fried with oyster sauce. It was not too salty but i still prefer the garlic taste to blend well with all rich tastes of the sumptous meal.We had the good food but there was no ambience. But who said you cannot create your own romance? Sipping from the same glass of sugar cane can be equally romantic. Another page of the good old times stored.
