Phuket - Beaches

Image
Welcome to Patong Beach! Although it rained when we were there, it was more of a passing shower than anything else. The rain would come suddenly and gone swiftly. Don't underestimate the cloudy sky, the ray of Mr Sunny is powerful enough to penetrate through your umbrella, your shade and your sunblock to give you a nice toasting... You probably can't appreciate the height of the waves from the photo, but if you could just imagine. I'm standing at 1.6m and the waves were strong enough to hit from the top and push me to the front. That's how strong the waves and currents were. At one stage, I got carried away. I went further out to the sea and soon found myself struggling. I lost my footing and couldn't feel the sand bed. That's when I realised I am in deep trouble. I tried to swim to the shore but no matter how, I was still at the same spot, if not, farther away from the shore. In the end, I thought if I stayed still, the waves might just push me to the front, an...

Phuket - Away from Beach

Besides the beach, Patong offers many other entainments. You can choose to go pubbing, clubbing. There are many shopping centres around and there's always the spa and massage to rejuvenate your senses. We took some time out to walk around Patong. Basically, the most happening stretch was located at Bang-La road. The road was blocked off at 6pm. We saw this bakery house along this stretch, together with the hip hip clubs. We actually wanted to try SALA massage located at Bang-La road which was nominated to be the best from the trip advisor website. But we went twice at different timings, yet it was also full. Now at Patong, you can even shop in comfort. Jungceylon is the largest shopping mall in Patong and there is even a hotel in the shopping mall premises. Although the mall was huge, there wasn't a crowd. In fact, it appeared cold and empty at times. Patong is nicely lit up for the night where the merry makers spend their night away...

Phuket - Accomodation

Image
We booked our hotel from agoda website. We paid about SGD250 for our 3 nights with daily breakfast at Rayaburi Hotel. The hotel location was really good. It was 5 minutes to the Patong beach and near to all the bustling happenings. Our deluxe room was located at Level 3. The shower area was an open concept, the room was reasonably clean. There was a small balcony attached to our room but we didn't get a sea view. Instead, it was the street view. Since our room was at level 3, we often walked down the stairs. The staircase was not tiled but laid with timber planks, giving a homely feel. The hotel had a patio which was next to their dining area. And this was the place where we had our daily breakfast. At the rooftop, which was Level 5, it was home to the jacuzzi .... and the Sauna. But we didn't use the facility at all, since the beach was just nearby. The roof top was spacious and even had sun decks. There was even a small section of garden. With such good weather, we hurried to...

Phuket - Getting there & Coming Back

Image
Rise and Shine!! Oops... actually it was still very dark when we woke up to catch our early flight to Phuket, Thailand. We booked Jetstar for a return trip that cost us including taxes for less than SGD 250. I thought it was really a good deal. And we got to choose our flight timing with the 1st flight to Phuket and the last flight out of Phuket. We took a train to Changi Airport since our flight was at 8.20am and we needed to check in just 40 minutes before hand. Though it was so early, we were all hyped up and ready for action. Gorgeous weather waiting for us.... A snap shot of us before we got really sunburnt. And finally....... A good ending for our trip. All brown and all chubby. Because we checked in early for our departing flight at Phuket, we received complimentary vouchers to use their Elite lounge at Phuket International Airport. It was our first time to be admitted to any airport lounge and it was a nice touch to end off our 4 days Phuket getaway.

mauvais jour

mon humeur est vraiment mauvaise aujourd'hui

Back with a Different Look

Dear all readers (assuming that I have readers), I am back from my Phuket Holiday! Yes of course, it was all so fun and all so adventurous. For once, I discovered how treacherous the sea could be, got swept out by the current in a split second, lost my footing and struggling to swim ashore. My encounter with a jellyfish and its sting. That painful stinging feeling will etched in my mind for as long as I could remember. The revenge on the jellyfish by Mother Nature, left them high and dry after a high tide and big waves. The snorkeling trip which saw us with a sunburnt nose. Walking around like a red lobster. The fine sand and clear water. The fishes and the coral. Sea urchins hidden in between the coral, waiting for the unsuspecting to step onto them. A local thai restaurant with the cheapest seafood, freshest seafood and the best Tom Yam in Patong. We went back there daily. The foot massage and the aroma oil body massage, the shopping and the bargaining. All these would be posted in d...

Reflection

When this picture was taken, I wanted to show the tranquility of "Clementi By the Bay". But today, after a series of events, I re-looked at this photo and felt that my life was blur like this photo. Looking intensively for the opportunity to move out from the box.
