28 March 2015 The queue to Parliament House to pay final respects to LKY has been overwhelming and I only managed to reach PH in my 3rd attempt. The first attempt was Friday wee hours at 3am. I didn't expect the queue to have a 8 hours wait and I calculated that I would not be in time to settle the boys. So anticipating that I would need extra help, I got hubby to get MIL to come over on Saturday morning if we managed to go but not back in time when the boys woke up. However, on Saturday wee hours 3am, I learnt the queue was temporarily suspended due to overwhelming response. I went back to sleep but on off waking up to check on the queue status. We did our usual Saturday routine and at 12+pm, I read the queue was about 4hours wait. The boys napped early and we made a dash down. My 3rd attempt. We parked the car at Raffles City smoothly, proceeded to follow the direction to queue. We didn't have to wait too long. We walked fast and kept moving. I was quite concerned about...

Singapore Grieves

Image
23 March 2015 Singapore grieves as our nation founding father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew passed on this early morning at the age of 91. It was an extraordinary Monday with people from all walks of life gathered together to pour out their condolences to our nation's loss. I didn't expect myself to be penning a post on this remarkable man nor finding myself moved to teary eyes when I heard broadcast on his lifetime achievements. It was strange since I have no ties, I have never even come close in his presence or have any crystal clear impression of our first Prime Minister. Yet, the heart loomed with the news of his passed on. I guess the only link I have with this leader was he set the foundation of this Singapore I know, live, breathe. You know you have not lived in vain when you leave footprints in others' life. Mr Lee, you had lived. It is regrettable that you couldn't see the nation's Jubilee Celebration as we enter into our 50th year of independence. But...

Q1 - His Birthday

Image
In our family, we celebrate birthday in every quarter. We started Q1 with the man of the house's birthday. @ MIL's place But the birthday has evolved. Instead of celebrating for the actual birthday boy, we got 2 really excited young ones, singing the birthday song, blowing the candles and cutting the cake. Children… everyone's birthday has become their birthday! We took some time out on Monday to enjoy couple time. The last time we stepped into a cinema was last April, watching Noah. After a year, we finally got a chance to step into the cinema again. We watched The Kingman. It was a good pick of movie selection. Before that, we had a quick causal lunch at Poulet. Poulet @ WestGate mushroom soup We actually wanted the French Onion soup but somehow, I got it mixed up and ordered Mushroom soup. Still, it was pretty impressive. Salad de Paris We loved this salad for its unique combination of taste - something sweet and so...

My expectation of Matt in CWK's program is almost non-existence. All I wanted was that he be happy. When he brought back his 1st art craft, I was pretty impressed by his 3hr kindy. 1st Art Craft - CNY decor I didn't think that the teachers would have much time to do anything else after the toilet break, lunch break. But look, they got the 2-3 yr old toddlers to do up this CNY decor. my little cheerio Good job, my little cheerio!
