A Series of Events

I know it has been a long time since I get to blog and now that Jonathan is sleeping, I seize this chance to do a quick update. April - Jonathan turing 20 month old and Matthew turning 4 month old. As usual we always prep a slice of cake on the date they turn a month older. My little boy is so fearful of fruits that I am cracking my head on feeding him fruits but so far, nothing works. Not even mango mousse cake can tempt him to take a bite. *give up* Jonathan has returned to school for about 2 weeks now. He's slowly putting on weight again and yes, he is still crying every morning when we drop him off at Mindchamps. But at 20 month old, I am hearing him saying phrases " what's that?" "whose?" although it is still not with clear articulation. He is also more responsive to requests and instruction. Jonathan will be going to embark on his first field trip to the Zoo (after the HFMD episode 2 is cleared up in his school). To prep ...

The Silver Lining

It really had been a very bad 2-3 weeks for us. Jonathan suffered another round of high fever on 2 Sundays ago. His temperature was so high at 39.5C that we rushed to NUH children emergency right away. He was given ibuprofen upon reaching. waiting @ NUH What happened the next 5 days was really trying for us. His fever never left him and his temperature would spike above 38.5C at night. In fact we brought him back to Dr Yip, our usual PD on Monday and when Jon didn't get any better, we brought him back to the clinic again on Thursday. His high fever was a result of bronchitis and eventually, we needed to have antibiotics. his cheery smile is back His fever finally broke after 2 doses of antibiotics and we took him off school for almost 2 weeks. During this period, his school teachers called to send their regards, friends prayed for us and valuable advice was offered by other parents-friends. Nothing beats seeing the cheerful smile of Jonathan.
