Thursday (29 Oct 2009) marked the official date of us taking over the ownership of our humble house. the bunch of keys given to us 1st time house owner... 1st property we purchased together ... The recent customer satisfaction survey 2009 showed a dip. And I could understand why. On Thursday, I got a chance to visit Vivocity and went to a fast food joint which was known for their expensive burgers. I patronized the shop less than 5 times and I could only remember that their portobello mushroom burger was good. So I decided to have a burger and a hot tea before I headed home. However, it proved to be a mistake that ruined my dinner entirely. The story went like this... Me : I like to have a portobello mushroom burger without onions. Counter Staff (CS); male in his late 20s : Do you want to upgrade to a meal? Me : Nope and I like to have a hot tea. Suddenly CS gestured to me by tilting his head sideways. I was totally clueless to what he was trying to express. After 2 attempts, CS gave up and used his finger to point to the A4 poster board placed at the counter and said loudly : "you should give me one of this" Huh? excuz moi? What? Gave what? Thanks to the wonderful girls who gave me a such a memorable and beautiful night! We were having too much fun to remember to snap some pictures. But here some on what happened on that Chic Chicks' Nite : ) 1. Surprised makeover - SaSa (Bugis) Haha... they wanted to spook me up abit and warned me to be very scared. But halfway walking there, suddenly I blurted out "Don't tell me you gals are bringing me to SaSa" What followed needed no more to say. Thanks gals for the surprise! And it was a pleasant surprise with me transferring to this Rock Chick! Haha... *yup... this is me though it doesn't really look like me* *confused? Hmm... con't to stay confuse... haha* 2. Many new things to collect. Many new updates to make. Many new happenings. Finally, our wedding rings from Fairy's Inc are ready. That's about 3 months from the time we confirmed what we want. I still remember all the big and bright ideas I have for the celebration of love. Like what I have predicted, a lack of money, time and manpower force me to give up on my ideas. Smashed Idea #1 Wanted to put chocolates in this type of acrylic boxes and stick on a wedding sticker as wedding favour. With less than 1 month to go, no energy to source and put everything together. On my last and final try, decided to let it go. No doubt the cupcake is good but the cake is difficult to detach from its cup. The chocolate crust is really hard to sink in and eating in a delicate manner requires much effort and skill. Don't think anyone will attempt to eat the cupcakes with all these mess.

Haha... Yup... his next birthday is probably another 6 more months away but I have already thought of a theme and conceptualise on how we should celebrate his birthday. Every year, there's a theme. 1st year - Sky Adventure 2nd year - Spaceship 3rd year - Old England next year - "Go West" Place for that "Go West" - secret. Will be revealed in due time. I love birthdays!!!

Yesterday had dinner with a few ex-colleagues. One brought his wife along and his wife was sharing her experience on wedding preparation. She initially also felt the same as me, that it was simply too troublesome and too much money spent on a wedding. Plus she also had the same neutral emotions as me. She only went through it for the sake of the old mother. But she said now that, they are married and she recalled back the wedding, the memories were priceless to her. I could see her eyes brighten up and she was elated that she had gone through such a traditional but significant wedding. Perhaps it was too early for me to choose (E) but right now, at this moment... I don't think any exciting thing is going to happen on that day.

A) The Happiest day in your life B) Happier than usual C) Happy D) Neutral E) None of the above I went to my cousin's church wedding last Sat. It was a beautiful wedding, no doubt. I really like it when the pastor was addressing them, they both looked at each other and beaming away. As a bystander, the whole wedding was done within 90 mins. It kinda make me wonder how much effort the couple put in for that 90 mins of their most beautiful and significant moment. It also make me wonder what does it matter then, if the venue was not decorated to resemble a garden. The food was not served for a king's appetite. The guests were not entertained to a royal ball galavant. If that's the case, should I then be concerned about the flowers, the colours used, the ribbons, the food etc. So as to say, sorry folks if you are expecting something grand and extravagant for the Big Celebration. It is going to be a pauper's wedding

In all circumstances, there are always 2 consequences. The good and the bad. While it may hold some truth that a seemingly bad choice may later prove to a good choice, the nature balance is often indisputable. I guess that's how life keeps on moving. It opens up my mind and my eyes on certain things too. Whatever bad has happened, whatever good has been received, the earth still revolves endlessly. It won't do anything, change any fact even if I brawl my eyes out. The apostle Paul wrote, “In everything give thanks” (1 Thess. 5:18). Not that we have to be thankful for even the bad things that had happened, but to be thankful in difficult circumstance, the Lord can still use it and make something good out of it. Jesus has never promised His followers a bed of roses but He has promised that He will keep us through.

This morning, it suddenly dawned to me that in life, there's always a double sided story. a Pro and a Con. a Pos and a Neg. a Good and a Bad. For example. The airport A place of both emotions. I see people waiting anxiously for their loved ones and broke into their biggest smile when the person they have been waiting for appear. I also see people crying, hugging with a very heavy burden. The atmosphere was totally gloomy. The hospital A place where you receive the good news - a child is borned. The same place where you dread the phone rings at night, telling you to come quickly because there's no more time. The home A place to call your own sanctuary. You seek refuge in there and find peace. However, a home can be a place where abuse happened. All within the four walls but different experience and outcome. Life is just so ever changing, ever dynamics, ever shifting. LIFE - a simple four lettered word, a 7 points scored in scrabble yet its meaning cannot be contained within.

Got back from a long overdue body massage. Hopefully with this rub, my stiff neck and shoulder would ease off gradually. Haven't had a good sleep recently. Lotsa dreams and mostly about office people. I wonder why.

Recently. Putien opened a new branch in Jurong Point. We went to try it on Friday. Was not expecting too much because firstly, I don't know why Crystal Jade closed down one of its outlets and Putien took over the shop front. Secondly, I prefer Cantonese Cuisine for a chinese dinner than any other dialect. From the menu placed outside, I vaguely guess Putien could be serving Hokkien Cuisine. While waiting for our table, I saw the blown up advertisement they placed. One of the captions caught my attention. It was HK celebrity Nadia Chan aka Chen Song Ling commenting Putien's dishes offered non stop surprises for her palate. I thought it was abit exaggerating. We opted for their dinner set menu for 2 pax at $38++. Came with four dishes : 1. Bamboo Herbal Prawns It was a shame I didn't have a proper camera with me.
